PE and Sport Premium
At Hormead School we recognise the contribution of PE and Sport to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.
The Sports Grant is given to schools as part of the Government's Olympic Legacy initiative. It is for schools to use to support enhanced provision of PE and Sport, with a focus on improving participation and encouraging physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. It has proved a very successful initiative, and the Government has committed to continuing the funding.
We have used the funding to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering more competitive sports competitions regionally, and training our staff to deliver in-house quality PE.
The reports below show how we have spent this money and what we are planning to do with it in the future.
