British Values
At Hormead, it is important that our children learn to live harmoniously in a multi-cultural society valuing each individual as a unique child of God, it is imperative to develop children with an abundance of mutual respect for people from different faiths, beliefs and backgrounds.
Our school values are at the heart of everything we do and we intertwine these values with British Values. As a result, we educate the children in democracy, the rule of law and their individual liberty throughout our curriculum, and in Citizenship lesson taught in PSHE lessons so that our children are best prepared for their futures in modern Britain.
Children are immersed in a set of values for life and are the best ambassadors at showing our values in action. These values are taught explicitly through Collective Worship, Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE), and Religious Education (RE). We also teach the British Values through our careful planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.
